Photography is more than a single frame .

Great photography takes time. Time to explore an idea, follow a story, get to know a place or a person, and discover something that might otherwise go unnoticed. Yet in a world increasingly driven by instant images, social media likes and the endless pursuit of the next photograph, there is surprisingly little encouragement to slow down and develop a body of work.

We want to change that.

Our platform is being created for photographers who want to look beyond the single image and explore the possibilities of longer term photographic projects. It is a place to develop ideas, pursue stories, challenge yourself creatively and share your work with a community of like minded people.

Quarterly assignments.

Every quarter, we will introduce a new photographic assignment designed to inspire exploration, experimentation and storytelling. Rather than simply producing a handful of images and moving on, photographers will be encouraged to spend time with their chosen subject, develop a personal approach and create a considered body of work.

There are no expectations that everyone should see a subject in the same way. Quite the opposite. We want to see different perspectives, unexpected interpretations and stories that might never have been told otherwise.

At the end of each quarter, three outstanding assignments will be selected for publication on the website. These selections will celebrate not only strong individual photographs, but also the thought, consistency, originality and storytelling that make a photographic project worth spending time with.

And there is a longer term ambition, too.

A year in photographs.

At the end of each year, we will bring together all the assignments selected throughout the previous four quarters in a dedicated annual publication. It will be an opportunity to celebrate the photographers, their projects and the stories they have developed, creating a lasting record of the work produced by the community.

For those selected, it will mean seeing their work presented as part of a curated collection. For everyone else, it will provide inspiration, ideas and a reminder of what can happen when photographers give themselves the time and space to pursue a subject properly.

Our ambition is to create something more lasting than another collection of images disappearing into the digital feed.

More than assignments.

Photography can be a solitary pursuit, but it doesn’t have to be an isolated one.

The platform will include a community forum where members can share ideas, discuss their projects, exchange experiences, ask questions and connect with other photographers. Whether you are an experienced documentary photographer or someone looking to take the next step in your photographic journey, we want this to be a place where curiosity is encouraged and constructive conversation is valued.

The platform will evolve as the community grows. We expect to introduce additional features, opportunities and resources over time, shaped in part by the interests and ideas of the people who take part.

Join us on the journey.

This is an invitation to think a little differently about photography. To spend three months exploring an idea rather than three minutes scrolling through somebody else’s work. To follow a story, take creative risks, learn from others and discover what your photography might become when you give it the attention it deserves.

You don’t need expensive equipment, a professional portfolio or years of experience. You need curiosity, a willingness to commit to an idea and a desire to make photographs that mean something to you.

The best projects often begin with a simple question. We provide the assignment. What you do with it is up to you.

Come and be part of it.
